So this is one I haven't encountered before. I've taken over simming for a league using the shootout version 478 and we've just started the playoffs. Everything went smoothly for the Game 1s. I simmed both game days and everything was business as usual. When I went to sim the Game 2s last night, the sim was suddenly acting like it was a regular season schedule. All the Game 2s were condensed into a single game day rather than split into 2 days as usual and file name formats for the games were FHL#PLF#.html rather than the standard FHL#PLF-R#-#.html format — it's as though the sim was now acting as though it was running a league called FHL#PLF rather than FHL#. I'm trying to figure out what caused this to prevent it happening again, as we're likely going to have to restart the playoffs as a result of this issue.

I've managed to resolve the issue. I was moving the entire TRANSFER folder over to the folder where I store all the league files and outputs. The lge, tms, and ros outputs caused the issue by overwriting the pre-existing lge, tms, and ros files.

i had this issue as well last season. never figured out what caused it, I had to re start the playoffs. I dont think I did anything different after simming game 1 but maybe I did. If you know what caused it (as it seemns you figured it out) could you explain in a bit more detail what happened? Did you start over or just correct the issue?
thanks
Daniel

After that, when moving files from TRANSFER over to your league files and outputs folder, you want to exclude the lge, tms, and ros outputs, as otherwise they overwrite your playoff files, effectively turning them into the regular season of a new league, creating the problem.

Skip the problem entirely by keeping your league files and output files in different folders.

I've just encountered this issue, but when I load up the regular season file backup I have, the option to start the playoffs is not available (greyed out) - the results/standings from regular season we just finished does not seem to be registering as completed.
Does anyone know if this is fixable?

Hi guys, I find out how to resolve this issue. Is it like the sim is not ending the season after the last games/day. If your season is over and "Start Playoff" can't be clicked and the season looks not done, go to "Play Games". Just press "Today's Games" TWICE. Normally, under Today's Games, it should be written: "Season is over". You should see this popup AND the "Start Playoff" should be enabled. Have fun!

Thanks a lot Eric! Thought I had lost an entire season's playoffs!
I've changed the location of the league files (I had them together in TRANSFER with all the .html outputs).
Just to be clear, the regular season and PLF league files are ok in the same folder as long as it's not the output folder?

If I remember correctly, when the playoff ends, it rewrites over season html files. So, save the season html files when you start the playoff, this way, you will not forget to save them.

as far as i know the season and playoff files should be ok in same folder because the files should be named differently - example season1.html and season1plf.html or something like that

Yes the .html files are fine - I had the sim program files in the same folder as the output files. The sim outputs an extra set of .lge, .tms and .ros files when you output the html's, and those were conflicting with the rest of the sim program files. I'm running the sim files in a separate folder from the Transfer output folder now and it's working fine.
