Hey guys, my name is Mike and I'm a first time Commish looking to start working on starting up my own league. I want to ask what everyone uses for a web host.

right now im using en.altervista.org/ - meh. I wasnt sure how well my league was going to go at first.. so I wanted to start with a free site. it does have sufficient space available too. im also not the greatest at web, graphic design and there were a few custom layouts to chose and fiddle with - but it can limited on how you can arrange things on the page I wouldnt really recommend it - but if you dont want to pay any fees, it could be something to get started. But, i'd recommend using a ftp client (FileZilla) to upload your files. I may upgrade to a better site eventually.

See these are things and experiences I am hoping people are able to share. FileZilla is a important program to have; as I have learned from Chris Mowbray as well that PERL is important too for the Add-ons. Thanks FSH

I use Just Host, been with them a couple years, have been good to me, it is a pay site though.

I use Bravenet. Not cheap (not that I have actually compared, though), but it allows me to choose my own URL and I share the site with another league to cut down costs. At one time, there were 5 leagues sharing the domain (all with their own league URL of course), but they all eventually folded. But if you need lots of space, it certainly hasn't been an issue.

Justhost They are cheap and unlimited recently moved to godaddy...justhost is great in the beginning but kept raising their prices every renewal...when i joined it was like $75/yr, when i left they were asking for $150/yr, same services. Who knows maybe godaddy will do the same, seems a lot of host do that, bring you in, get you comfy, jack the rates.
